CMP & COVID-19

As the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) increases its impact on our lives, we wanted to connect directly with you about the steps CMP is taking to protect the health and welfare of our clients, team members and community. You may have also heard that Treasury Secretary Mnuchin has extended the due date for both filings, and tax payments, to July 15th.  If you need a filing extension beyond that, we can file an extension pushing that due date to October 15th.

You, our clients, are the lifeblood of our business and working with you is where we derive great joy in our profession.  In an effort to protect the safety of those around us and continue to provide great service, we are making the following changes:

  1. If you have an appointment already scheduled, you will be contacted shortly to have that appointment completed by telephone.  If you would prefer to meet in person, we will happily meet with you after May 15th.
  2. If you have not set up an appointment, please contact our office to set one up.  If you would like that appointment prior to May 15th, it will need to be done by telephone.  Please remember, we need to receive your tax information at least one week prior to your appointment.
  3. If your tax return is currently in process, it will be completed shortly.
  4. If you have other business needs you may still contact us via telephone or email.  We will continue to be available during normal business hours.

Based on current guidance and our own standards and practices, our office currently has no plans to shut down and will remain open and accessible. We have implemented enhanced cleaning measures for our office for the protection of our employees and clients in accordance with the current guidelines put out by the CDC and other health agencies.

Our firm is also prepared in the event we need to operate from outside of our office with the necessary equipment, as well as backup systems and technical support, that will allow our workforce to work remotely in compliance with our Disaster Recovery Plan and other policies. We remain committed to maintaining our firm’s quality control standards.

Our top priorities are (1) the health and safety of CMP’s clients and associates and (2) to continue serving the needs of our clients, professional advisors, and other stakeholders. Thankfully, CMP is very well positioned to meet these priorities because of the outstanding clientele we work with, the significant investments we have made in technology and the team we have assembled over the years. We have great confidence in the future and realize the next few weeks will be incredibly challenging for many people.  We appreciate your flexibility and support during this time. It is our privilege to serve you today, tomorrow, and beyond as we strive to make a difference in your life.

Take care and be safe,

CMP, PC
